Kim Dwyer, RYT
Kim has been teaching Yoga on the South Shore since 2004. She is a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist (700 hour training course) specializing in private practice. Supported by her yoga therapy training, Kim’s mission to assist clients with mindful movement, personal introspection and creating balance in dealing with life’s everyday demands.
Kim is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher with intensive training in mindfulness meditation and Yin Yoga. Under the tutelage of Sarah Powers at The Insight Institute in California, Kim will complete her 500 hour training in mindfulness meditation and Yin Yoga in 2017. This training has included a two week session in Ko Samui, Thailand.
Kim’s interest in mindfulness practices coupled with daily meditation and Yin Yoga, has led her to become more involved in the more contemplative forms of Yoga practice. Kim’s yoga classes weave humor and intelligence into a sequence of long holding Yin poses to enliven the meridian system. Her concentration of standing slow flow Yoga poses to strengthen the physical body safely, create introspection and moment to moment awareness. Joy and a lightness of being during practice is an important quality that Kim tries to instill in her students.
Kim is also the author of the book, “Meditations For Moms,” (Barnes and Noble carries the book!) She teaches workshops specializing in Yoga and Depression, Couple Yoga Workshop for Strong Relationships, and workshops for parents to help them channel serenity, energy and confidence into parenting. Twice yearly, she offers a popular Yin Yoga training for Yoga teachers and serious practitioners. She considers herself a lifetime learner. Her love of Yoga translates into her everyday life, bringing an ease in her body and in her relationships.
